As temperatures rise in Arizona, your landscape’s water needs change too. Keeping your plants, trees, and grass healthy means adjusting your watering schedule to match the summer heat. Thankfully, with the Hydrawise app, it's simple to do.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you update your settings — and remember, if you need a hand, our team at Botanist of the Valley is just a phone call away.

Step 1: Open the Hydrawise App

Download and open the Hydrawise app on your smartphone (available on iOS and Android). Log in with your account credentials.

Step 2: Select Your Zones

Once logged in:

  • Click the top left corner with the 3 lines.

  • Tap “Zones & Schedules”

  • You’ll see a list of all your irrigation zones (e.g., Plants, Trees, Grass, Pots).

Make sure each zone is properly labeled — this helps when adjusting watering times.

Step 3: Adjust Each Zone’s Summer Settings

Match the following schedule to each zone:

🌿 Plants set to water 6 days a week at 5:00 AM for 60 minutes.

🪴 Pots set to water every other day — Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 6:00 AM for 15 minutes.

🌳 Trees set to water 6 days a week at 7:00 AM for 75 minutes.

🌱 Grass set to water 5 days a week at 4:00 AM for 30 minutes.

To adjust:

  • Tap the zone.

  • Choose “Watering Schedule”.

  • Edit the start time, frequency, and duration as needed.

Step 4: Save and Sync

After adjusting each zone:

  • Tap “Save” or “Apply”.

  • Allow the app to sync with your controller to update the schedule in real time.

Step 5: Monitor Your System Weekly

Even with smart scheduling, it's a good idea to check in on your Hydrawise dashboard weekly. Watch for dry spots or excess pooling, and tweak settings if needed.

Bonus: Use Our Recommended Gallon Chart

Not sure how much water your plants or trees need? Refer to our quick-use gallon chart (shown above in the second image) to ensure each zone is matched to plant size.
