Question 1

How much does it cost to remodel a pool in Scottsdale?

Accepted Answer

The cost depends on the existing pool condition and the scope of work. Resurfacing, tile, coping, decking, equipment, water features, structural changes and full backyard improvements can all affect the final investment.

Question 2

How do I know if my pool needs resurfacing?

Accepted Answer

Common signs include worn, rough, stained or deteriorating interior surfaces. The best approach is to evaluate the existing finish and overall pool condition before selecting a new surface.

Question 3

Can I change the tile and coping without rebuilding the pool?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tile and coping are commonly replaced as part of a pool remodel and can significantly update the appearance of the pool edge.

Question 4

Can you remodel the decking around my pool too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Decking and surrounding hardscape can be redesigned or replaced to improve appearance, circulation and usable patio space.

Question 5

Can you add water features to an existing pool?

Accepted Answer

In many cases, yes. Scuppers, raised walls, spillways and other features may be possible depending on the existing structure, plumbing and desired design.

Question 6

Can you add a spa to my existing pool?

Accepted Answer

It may be possible depending on the pool structure, equipment, plumbing, available space and desired spa configuration. A site evaluation is required to determine the best approach.

Question 7

Can I see the remodel in 3D before construction?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For larger remodels, 3D design can show the existing pool with proposed new materials, patios, landscape, shade structures and other improvements.

Question 8

Should I remodel just the pool or the whole backyard?

Accepted Answer

That depends on what is not working today. If the pool is the only dated element, a focused remodel may be enough. If circulation, shade, landscape or outdoor living areas also feel outdated, a broader backyard redesign may create a more cohesive result.

Question 9

Do you handle pool remodeling and landscape design together?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Botanist of the Valley can coordinate the pool remodel with landscaping, patios, outdoor kitchens, shade structures, lighting, fire features and other outdoor improvements as one design-build project.
